Eric Wiebelhaus-Brahm

Dr. Wiebelhaus-Brahm is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Affairs. He joined the faculty at UA Little Rock in 2013 after completing his Ph.D in Political Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder and teaching at Florida State University and the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. His work focuses on International Relations and Comparative Politics, with a focus on Human Rights, Transitional Justice, and Peace & Conflict Studies.

His book, “Truth Commissions and Transitional Societies,” was published by Routledge (2010). He also is the author of several book chapters and his articles have appeared in journals such as the Journal of Peace Research, International Journal of Transitional Justice, Journal of Human Rights, and International Studies Perspectives.

His research interests in the Middle East include 21st century attempts by Arab societies to address human rights violations and the Syrian diaspora’s efforts to craft a transitional justice strategy for the country.

Dr. Wiebelhaus-Brahm teaches courses on international law and organizations, human rights, the developing world, as well as Politics of the Middle East, a core course for the Middle Eastern Studies curriculum.
